We make no guarantees, representations, or warranties — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any identification, description, estimate, or other information produced or presented by the service, including our encyclopedia, reference pages, guides, and articles.

AI models can make mistakes, misinterpret visual features, or produce inaccurate results (commonly referred to as “hallucinations”). The AI may identify the wrong species, type, or item altogether, misstate characteristics, origin, history, or uses, or describe something that is not in the photo at all. Photographs alone are often insufficient to distinguish visually similar birds, and lighting, angle, focus, scale, and background all affect what the model can see.
